Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Vice President of Talent Acquisition is a member of the North American HR Leadership Team and leads a geographically dispersed team of Talent Acquisition professionals who are focused on creating innovative approaches to sourcing and recruiting the best talent for Sunrise. 


In this role, you are responsible for developing, leading, and implementing world class talent acquisition strategies, and all sourcing, recruiting, vendor management, data & analytics reporting in support of the organization’s business goals and objectives.


You will partner with leaders across the organization including operations and finance to implement strategic, standardized, cost efficient, effective talent attraction solutions by leveraging data and insights to meet the evolving talent needs and demands of the organization.


You will define and champion the candidate experience, continuously improve the candidate journey from prospect to hire, including but not limited to application experience, funnel development, candidate communications, and process automation.

  • Serve as strategic advisor to the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) and their teams on all matters related to Talent Acquisition.
  • Develop and execute proactive Talent Acquisition strategies, including developing a recruitment plan (1-3year time horizon), to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
  • Ensure excellent collaboration, partnership, and customer service with the executive team and leaders throughout the organization.
  • Lead the efforts to design and implement an inspirational employer brand.
  • Lead efforts to ensure alignment with Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, & Belonging (DEIB) initiatives within sourcing and recruiting processes and policies.
  • Build key relationships and credibility across the organization.
  • Lead in the collection & analysis of competitor intelligence including information on competitor acquisition pipeline and products affecting the talent market landscape
  • Create new frameworks for sourcing all types of clinical, field ops & corporate roles.
  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications team to create innovative and high-impact marketing campaigns to drive recruiting efforts
  • Ensure prioritized external pipelines are in place by partnering with external recruiting partners
  • Explore & develop new and innovative executive talent acquisition channels based on market insight aligned to specific functional needs
  • Drive the design, development and delivery of effective strategic recruitment plans
  • Drive accelerated cultural and operational change within Talent Acquisition to become a more collaborative, analytical, digital, technology-enabled and customer centric HR function
  • Review and refine Talent Acquisition practices and re-design processes and the candidate experience leveraging digital and AI technologies
  • Analyze and communicate recruitment trends, results and insights to drive future recruitment activity, improve compliance and reduce risk
  • Have a deep understanding of reporting and analytics to help shape sourcing and recruiting strategies
  • Measure talent acquisition team with specific metrics and ensure compliance with KPIs
  • Analyzing ROI on each strategy to ensure effectiveness
  • Monitor and manage all team activity on a continuous basis, ensuring appropriate utilization of workloads across the team
  • Strategically balance and prioritize Talent Acquisition resources to meet constantly evolving business needs
  • Continuously improve the talent acquisition process across the organization to meet talent needs


  • The successful candidate should have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of related experience in a large, complex organization, with a reputation for excellence. They should be skilled in integrating themselves into an existing organization in a diplomatic and productive fashion while being an effective agent for change. They should also have a reputation as a strategically oriented executive who delivers results, has proven leadership skills, and strong business acumen.
  • BA Degree; MBA or MA preferred
  • 15+ years experience within Talent Acquisition
  • 7+ years experience working in multi-site, multi-state healthcare or similar organizations
  • 7+ years experience in leadership of the talent acquisition function
  • Extensive experience of creating and driving a Talent Acquisition strategy, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, equity, & belonging and data analytics
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed and remote team
  • Strong Data & Analytical skills with the ability to produce meaningful insights, KPIs and management information
  • Prior successful experience working with and implementing an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) (iCMS preferred)
  • Detailed knowledge of employer branding, recruitment marketing & social media strategies
  • Experience managing relationships with key talent vendors & recruiting firms
  • Collaborative with excellent persuasion & influencing skills
  • Experience in preparing and presenting business cases and managing a complex budget
