The Workday Release Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the strategic roadmap for Workday releases across the organization. This role requires a strong leader who can drive cross-functional collaboration, establish release governance standards and ensure seamless on-time deployment of Workday features and updates. Additionally, they will work closely with executive stakeholders across HR, Payroll, Finance and Change Management teams to ensure releases align with business objectives and optimize system performance.
• Configuration Management:
• Follow Sunrise’s Information Technology General Controls and Change Management procedures to ensure changes are documented, tested and approved prior to implementation
• Maintain all tenants and gold copy, training and test environments
• Change Management and Training: Coordinate with Change Management to document the change management process, ensuring any modifications or deployments follow best practices and are communicated effectively and that all required training is developed and delivered to impacted employees
• Monitoring and Reporting:
• Track and report key release metrics (KPIs) such as release frequency, deployment success rate and post-release issues
• Ensure timely delivery and resolution of any issues that arise during or after releases
• Release Documentation: Ensure all necessary release documentation, including release notes, deployment plans and rollback procedures, are maintained and up to date
• Post-Release Support: Monitor the performance of new releases and coordinate with relevant teams to address any post-release defects or improvements
• Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met
• Perform other duties as assigned
Core Competencies:
• Strong Workday development background with focus on HCM and Payroll modules
• Demonstrated experience in managing Workday releases with waterfall and agile methodologies
• Knowledge of Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Management Procedures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify issues and recommend solutions
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization
• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
