The Pantry Assistant will assist the Executive Chef in providing management ordering/receiving/storing of food products for the community's Dining Services operations. These responsibilities include but are not limited to understanding the menu ingredients, maintaining a proper inventory of ingredients, ensuring ingredients are properly stored to maximize shelf life and notify DSD of any vendor product problems.
Qualification
- Minimum three (3) years experience working in a kitchen environment as a cook or clerk
- Maintains current Food Services Sanitation certificate; Serve Safe certified
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Ability to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours, available for our customers at peak service delivery days and times
- Competent in organizational, time management skills
Responsibilities
- Ensures all products ordered and received for menus ensuring cost and portion control
- Demonstrates, incorporates knowledge of ingredients needed for daily production
- Facilitates food production through proper inventory controls
- Reviews to ensure all records regarding food and supply purchases are accurate and completed on time
- Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations
