This role supports the West Division. The ideal candidate will reside within the West Division.
The Director of Operations is responsible for leading all aspects of the business for their community portfolio. Responsible for
successfullyexecuting Sunrise’s strategic plan to achieve short-term and long-term company objectives through delivery of
quality care, customer service, sales, and operational excellence.

o Build and lead diverse, high performing teams.
o Overall management of talent, including but not limited to recruiting, on-boarding, goal setting, and providing

leadership for team members and residents. Hold team accountable and correct actions when necessary.

o Set standards and motivate team to drive excellence and maintain high standards of quality care, financial
accountability, and business growth.
o Develop a working knowledge of state/Provincial regulations andensure compliance through supervising and
coaching team members in partnership with Regional Human Resources Managers.
o Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other
regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met.

• Drive Business and Sales Strategy (Strategic Pillar: Grow):
o Operations:
▪ Provide strategic operational direction, development, business management, and strategy with a
focus on the overarching strategic priorities.
▪ Lead our operational, sales, and care teams to provide innovative, outstanding, and consistent care
and services to residents and families.
▪ Monitor and drive operational results by data driven facts through company operational, financial
reporting, and business intelligence systems for planning and strategic decision making.
o Financial:
▪ Knowledge of Profit and Loss (P&L) and business management (pricing, financial reporting, census
measures, variance reports, labor/labour reports, etc.).
▪ Understand and employ multiple revenue drivers, beyond occupancy levels, which drive the top line
(e.g., pricing, inventory management, care levels, programs enhancements).
▪ Accountable to portfolio to apply budgeting and capital expenditure policies and procedures,
including processing expenses and budget data timely per Sunrise policies and internal business
controls.
▪ Engage with Asset Management and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)teams to increase value
proposition as a management services company with fiscal accountabilities to multiple owners and
stakeholders to achieve desired occupancy and operating results.
▪ Employ dynamic pricing and inventory management to drive occupancy and revenues.
o Sales and Marketing:
▪ Provide sales leadership and drive execution of sales strategies related to pricing, positioning, and
business development, ensure clinical execution and quality assurance, and drive transformational
change as it relates to vision and organizational objectives while being a champion for our Sunrise
Mission.
▪ Develop overall marketing strategy for area and review marketing plans for each community;
leveraging marketing and sales data to drive decision making and business planning.
▪ Partner with marketing to develop and implement strategic marketing campaigns to maximize lead
generation and occupancy growth while balancing company profitability goals.
• Drive Clinical and Wellness Strategy and Customer Experience (Strategic Pillar: Wellness):
o Demonstrate understanding and applyknowledge of all Sunrise products, programs and services including
their individual features and benefits they bring to residents and family members.
o Hold ultimate accountability for ensuring the customer experience is on-point, making certain that first
impressions display Sunrise’s community life as vibrant, nurturing, and welcoming.
o Oversee and ensure high level of quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and adherence to all risk
management processes.
o Oversee and manage resident care outcomes with Clinical Leader collaboration.
