JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst supports the effective use and continuous improvement of Sunrise’s HR systems, with a primary focus on Workday. This role serves as a key partner and provides functional expertise for a variety of projects including supporting business processes in Workday Core HCM, Onboarding and Security, designing system enhancements and contributing to projects involving business acquisitions, divestitures and organizational change. The Senior HRIS Analyst will also provide secondary support for Basic and Advanced Compensation, researching and resolving complex issues and collaborating with cross-functional HR and Technology teams to ensure system reliability and business alignment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

 
Responsibilities:

• Maintain configuration for Workday Core HCM and ensure alignment across modules including Onboarding, Security and Compensation, managing and resolving issues in collaboration with HR and Technology teams
• Participate in design sessions to gather functional requirements for new development and enhancement projects, with a focus on improving the online team member experience while maintaining compliance
• Lead and manage small-scale projects, partnering with business sponsors to define scope, deliverables, constraints and timelines as well as overseeing project execution, facilitating status meetings and ensuring timely updates
• Translate and document business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with systems architecture, controls, and documentation standards
• Partner with Training to create end-user documentation and deliver training for HR team members and business leaders on new processes or system functionality
• Identify and support improvement opportunities for HR processes, systems and reporting that leverage HR technology to enhance system efficiency, data integrity and the effectiveness of HR and Community operations • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts based on HR best practices, user feedback and policy alignment, with a strong focus on data integrity across interconnected systems
• Collaborate with application vendors to address system issues, implement new functionality and resolve technical problems
• Support communication and change management efforts tied to system enhancements and process changes
• Develop and deliver presentations on system capabilities, enhancements or specific HR technology topics as needed
• Monitor and evaluate business needs to ensure HR systems meet evolving expectations and performance benchmarks
• Provide peer support by assisting other analysts in troubleshooting and resolving system issues
• Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Demonstrated deep functional knowledge of Workday HCM and related modules with the ability to configure, troubleshoot and optimize system workflows in alignment with business needs and data governance standards
• Strong analytical thinking to identify root causes, interpret data and develop actionable solutions to complex system and process challenges
• Demonstrated ability to proactively identify opportunities to improve system usage, user experience and operational efficiency while adapting to change with resilience and supporting organizational readiness through training and change management efforts
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and project workstreams, balancing technical detail with strategic objectives and driving initiatives from planning through implementation
• Proven strength in building partnerships with HR, Technology, vendors and business leaders and communicating clearly across technical and non-technical audiences to align expectations and drive adoption
 

 

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed throughout this job description are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with HCM technology, including at least 3 years of technical experience with Workday Core HCM and Onboarding
• At least 3 years of experience supporting Workday Compensation (Basic and Advanced) is preferred
• Customer-focused mindset with a demonstrated ability to anticipate client needs, recommend solutions and take initiative while adapting to changing organizational priorities and operational needs
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a high level of attention to detail and organizational focus
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; project management experience or familiarity with project tools and methodologies is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• General knowledge of current HR technologies and system implementation best practices
• Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as strong reporting skills using Excel, Word and PowerPoint in a PC environment
