    This role provides strategic direction and oversight to the planning, scheduling, labor management functions and is the business owner of the associated systems within Sunrise Senior Living. This person will be responsible for leading the Workforce Management strategy, labor management processes and associated continuous improvement efforts across the Sunrise platform. This position drives profitability by leading the effort to effectively and efficiently utilize labor resources to support exceptional customer satisfaction, operational compliance, and team member satisfaction. This position partners with key corporate departments, field leaders, and external partners to facilitate the achievement of organizational goals on an annual basis.


    • This position is the business owner for the labor management systems used across the enterprise.
    • Responsible for leading the workforce planning and reporting efforts for Sunrise in partnership with HR, Finance, and field Operations. Leverages data analysis results to promote a culture of accountability.
    • Assist the department head in leading the strategy for all tasks, systems, and productivity initiatives in partnership with field Operations, IT, Finance, HR, and other corporate stakeholders.
    • Work with all business stakeholders in the continuous improvement of the labor management processes. Facilitate the sharing of labor management best practices across Sunrise communities.
    • Play a lead role in building and executing a change management/ communication plan that facilitates the adoption of the labor management process and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Responsible for the maintenance of scheduling and labor management training to ensure that team members at all levels, and in all functions, across the enterprise receive consistent and effective training.
    • Work with IT and external vendor on the management and maintenance of labor management systems to ensure the system(s) support Sunrise’s labor management processes.
    • Report and communicate key performance indicators with regard to labor management, including ad-hoc analyses, special projects, and the overall labor management strategy.

    Education and Experience:

    • Minimum 5-7 years workforce management experience; 3 years analytics or business intelligence experience; change management skills and experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training and hands-on experience; advanced degree a plus; healthcare service or hospitality experience a plus
    • Lean six sigma certification a plus; PMP certification a plus

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Must possess strong project management, communication, and leadership skills including producing quality deliverables under tight       deadlines, driving deliverables to completion through other people without direct supervisory responsibility
    • Critical thinker and strong problem solver with ability to frame issues, articulate findings, present optimal solutions.
    • Excellent client interface, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to clearly articulate to audiences at all levels. Trust-based relationship builder with proven ability to influence at multiple levels.
    • Must be self-directed, flexible, motivated and work well independently as well as with a team; consistently take a hands-on, proactive approach.
