    Sunrise Senior Living has joined with AllyAlign Health to form Sunrise Advantage Plan, a Medicare Advantage Health Plan designed to address the unique healthcare needs of Sunrise residents. We are currently recruiting for the Sunrise Advantage Plan Specialist (formerly known as Member Advocates). The Sunrise Advantage Plan Specialist (SAP) is a regional position designed to support residents, families, Sunrise communities and providers in understanding the benefits of and to build enrollment in the Sunrise Advantage Plan. The SAP will serve as the primary point of contact for the member and/or their families during their enrollment with the Plan and will work alongside the Sunrise regional and community teams during the process.


    The incumbent is expected to maintain an office out of his or her home, as no formal office space/work location is provided. The SAP conducts the majority of their work within Sunrise communities, virtually and telephonically in the assigned geographic region.

    The position is multi-faceted in its responsibilities, encompassing all of the essential elements of successfully marketing and managing the Sunrise Advantage Plan to Sunrise residents and the network of health care providers that are part of the Plan. Most importantly, because the incumbent’s primary duty will be the daily exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to the most significant aspects of the Sunrise Advantage Plan, the individual must demonstrate maturity, a business acumen, problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently.



    Enrollment/Sales duties:

    • Creates an effective sales plan to enroll residents into the Sunrise Advantage Plan and ensure a smooth process
    • Develops strategy for each potential member achieved through a scope of appointment approval
    • Ensures proper documentation of SOA’s, and plans each customer interaction after SOA is obtained
    • Successfully displays selling and closing skills to achieve enrollment goals and monitor disenrollment
    • Keeps all records updated in the approved computerized lead tracking system
    • Builds customer focused relationships by advancing the lead through the sales process and gaining customer commitment
    • Strives to meet or exceed targeted enrollment monthly

    Marketing duties:

    • Cohesively works alongside Director of Network Development to ensure network needs are met
    • Organizes in-service events to gain exposure to residents and their responsible parties/families. Prepares and delivers formal presentations for residents and families. In-service events may be scheduled on evenings and/or weekends
    • Develops and maintains relationships with key network providers and facilities within the assigned region in conjunction with the Director or Network Development
    • Ability to work well with staff at each of the nursing homes and physician offices in the assigned region to include nursing staff, doctors and administration staffs

    Education duties:

    • Demonstrates a strong understanding of other Medicare Advantage Plans in the market
    • Ensures that all team members in the community understand that sales is everyone’s responsibility and are knowledgeable and trained in their role of Marketing and Sales
    • Conducts weekly strategy and advisory meetings with the Executive Director and Director of Sales

    Administrative duties:

    • Provides marketing and sales leadership to all team members to help educate on generality of Sunrise Advantage Plan
    • Submits timely weekly reporting
    • Develops and maintains reporting, including but not limited to, managing Sunrise Advantage enrollment status, daily/weekly/monthly Sunrise Advantage community calendar, issues tracking/management and resolution
    • Once enrolled, follows up with members/families to ensure that any questions are answered, acts as the primary point of contact if members or their family need assistance with their benefits, and provides them with periodic updates about the Sunrise Advantage
    • Meets with members and/or their families at least monthly
    • Develops a comprehensive understanding of competitor Insurance Plans
    • Serves as a licensed insurance agent to explain plan benefits, answer questions about the plan, and facilitate the resident’s enrollment into the plan
    • After member is enrolled, introduces members/POAs to the customer service agent that will be supporting their need                                               

    Compliance Duties:

    • Ensures that ALL interactions with members are compliant with CMS regulations
    • Ensures all CMS required paperwork and documentation is properly submitted for all enrollments and disenrollments 

    Financial Duties:

    • Processes monthly expenses timely through computerized softwar

    Training Duties:

    • Fulfills all required training within the required timeframe, including the completion of all Sunrise University training and study application appropriate for the position
    • Completes all management training within the required timeframe
    • Completes all training required by the state or other regulating authorities including ongoing training per regulations
    • Completion of training may be required and/or certificates available per regulations and laws as applicable
    • Completes DS 90-day On-boarding checklist
    • Attends Sunrise Selling Skills and Customer Relationship Management lead tracking database courses within 90 days
    • Attends annual AEP training
    • Ensures all continuing education requirements are met within timeframe specified for licensure
    • Assist in team members engagement goals and training of Sunrise Advantage Plan by serving as the SAP expert 


    • Health Insurance Producer License or ability to pass exam within 45 days of hire
    • Comprehensive understanding of Medicare
    • 2 years of college education; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work within a corporate matrix
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products and computer skills
    • Ability to work within a CRM
    • Willing and able to work some evenings and weekends
